Best Dog Parks in Manhattan

For Manhattan dog owners, choosing the right neighborhood means choosing the right neighborhood for your dog, and hoping it works out for the owners as well. Maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, but most dog owners always have their dog’s best interest in mind. Fortunately, there are a bunch of neighborhoods in Manhattan with great dog parks. Three of our favorites are on the west side, and here they are.

Tribeca Dog Run

Tribeca Dog Run is a public park located off Pier 26 by Hubert & West Street. For Rockrose residents living in 41 River Terrace, Tribeca Dog Run is only a five minute walk for you. The park is great for dogs of all sizes. It is split up into two areas, one for big dogs and one for small, which means small dog owners don’t have to worry about their dogs being trampled over. The park has rocks for the dogs to play on and a water area for them to cool off. As the park is located right off the Hudson River, the views are ideal and the owners can enjoy them from comfortable benches.

De Witt Clinton Park

De Witt Clinton Park is a public park located in Midtown West off 53rd Street and West End Avenue. For Rockrose residents living in Midwest Court, the park is only two blocks away. Similar to Tribeca Dog Run, there are two separate areas for big dogs and small dogs, and the park has little pools to keep the dogs cool. For owners that aren’t looking to climb into the mini dog pools, the park has a large number of trees to keep you in the shade while you watch your dog from a bench.

West Village Dog Run

The West Village Dog Run is a private park for owners who are very particular with whom their dogs play with. The park is located on 55 Little West 12th street, which is one subway stop or a 10-15 minute walk from Rockrose’s 666 Greenwich Street Building, The Archive. The idea of joining a private park may sound snooty to some, but for dogs who have had bad experiences with other dogs in the past it can be the only choice. West Village Dog Run costs $75 per year to join. The dog run is small, and similar to the other parks it has a water hose for the dogs and benches for the owners.
