Creating Opportunity to Maximize Appeal

Challenge:

When taking on The Archive project on Greenwich Street, there was little retail in the area. Rockrose did bring in the well-liked D’Agostino’s, but knew that since the building did not have a gym it was important to bring one in. the problem was, none were interested at the time.

Solution/Result:

We went out and pounded the pavement to find a gym for our residents, and for the benefit of the area. Our professionals even went all the way out to Philadelphia to talk to the owner of Sherwood’s Gym who showed some interest, but was still fairly non-committal. We took an extra step to have t-shirts made that said “Sherwood’s at the Archive,” and the owner loved the concept. The gym came in and did very well, ultimately being acquired by the famed club Crunch.
